CJ Werleman’s Biggest Fan: ‘@Women4Atheism’

by DeepFicus

Many people have noticed the suspciously close connection between the twitter account @Women4Atheism and the writer CJ Werleman.

Here are the reasons that suspicion is justified:

Five years ago a twitter account called @ShitMyJesusSays is created. The first tweet is to CJ Werleman’s former account:

1

It’s followed by more jokes of a similar style:

2

Other similar tweets can be found here:

Sometime before March 28 2010, the username is changed to @Women4Atheism. The more vulgar tweets are deleted, presumably because the owner of the account deems them unbecoming of Ladies For Godlessness.

They’re followed by tweets like this:

3

Werleman’s new book gets a plug via retweet:

4

A bunch of people (the first being Werleman’s former account) get spammed with this:

5

Then just under a year ago @Women4Atheism for all intents and purposes becomes Women4CJ (or should that be CJforCJ) and starts petitioning Sam Harris and Bill Maher to recognize Werleman’s brilliance:

6

7

“She” then begins petitioning others:

8

As well as complimenting the man himself:

9

10

And retweeting others who compliment the man himself:

11

More of the same can be viewed here:

And here:

It’s worth noting that Werleman Favorites and Retweets almost every tweet @Women4Atheism makes. And why not? They have so much in common. A shared love of “midget” jokes:

12

And a difficulty spelling lightning:

13

It’s also worth noting that during this time, there is virtually no mention of anything even remotely related to the cause of ‘Women for Atheism.’

Then: The Maher/Harris/Affleck thing happens, and @Women4Atheism begins petitioning for Werleman once again:

14

15

Then prior to his appearance on The Young Turks there’s this:

16

And just to be sure:

17

Followed by more praise:

18

Then on the 17th of October, Werleman is accused of plagiarism on Godless Spellchecker’s blog: http://www.gspellchecker.com/2014/10/is-cj-werleman-a- plagiarist/

When in doubt, insult Sarah Palin:

20

A day later, this response:

21

22

Werleman then mistakenly comes to the conclusion that evidence of plagiarism is irrelevant if someone else has also plagiarised:

23

But at the same time seems to think better of it:

24

Remember that “Birds of a feather” thing? Well, forget it:

25

The self-proclaimed rising voice of ‘New Atheism’ then tweets:

26

A day later, the ‘heartfelt apology’ – not to the authors, not to the readers, but only to the people who continue to support him:

27

Werleman then goes off on a tangent and bizarrely forgets he himself is an immigrant (or “borrows” from someone who isn’t):

28

The very same day, a mysterious new blogger appears:

29

Werleman then retweets a blog post accusing Harris of the same instances of plagiarism Werleman had promised to make:

30

@Women4Atheism returns:

31

Sam Harris responds:

32

People begin to put two and two together – Werleman tweets:

33

Meanwhile, “Stephanie Cranson” has second thoughts:

34

Presumably to keep up the charade of being an actual person, “Stephanie” then retweets an important news story:

35

At this point, Werleman still can’t grasp why this is a big deal:

36

Neither can @Women4Atheism:

37

“She” chooses this moment to lose her faith:

38

Before finally revealing the “truth”:

39

40

It’s quickly retweeted:

41

42

Stephanie? A better name would be Patsy:

43

44

45

@Women4Atheism offers to remove the blog falsely accusing Harris of plagiarism, but there’s a catch:

46

@Women4Atheism then makes another accusation against Harris:

47

48

…in response to the following paragraph from Harris’ blog:

49

There’s one final interaction between Werleman and @Women4Atheism. All you unforgiving atheists could learn a thing or two from this man:

50

Hmmm…

You can accuse CJ Werleman of plagiarism, opportunism, and intellectual dishonesty, but don’t ever accuse him of being too hard on himself.
